I’m a big fan of retro needlepoint designs for pillows.
Our heart retro shoe needlepoint design is inspired by the old Chuck Taylor shoes worn back in the 1920’s, but with a fun twist.
It is available in two color options, and can be customized if desired. Add a name or message below the shoe or to the right.

Occasionally we get requests to make hand painted custom needlepoint canvases.
Normally we make stitch counted canvases that are printed, and for a number of reasons, think they are often better (see the image of this needlepointed photo done from a stitch counted canvas ) but, our painter just finished two projects this week, and they are wonderful!
One woman thought the Orangutan was gonna walk right off the canvas!

Check out the photo needlepoint canvas that one of our customers just finished!
This was done on 18 mesh, and the detail is amazing. She used a stitch counted canvas, and you can see why I think our photo to needlepoint process really is the best way to stitch a photo.
That said, really it is the stitcher who should be congratulated for her work. Nice work MJ!!!

Hats in France
Travel is fun. Sometimes it brings new creative ideas and other times it reinforces your own. On my recent trip to France, I was delighted to see that dressy summer hats were IN, and what was I working on but the two remaining hat bands shown in my recent blog.
I put the American Indian floral design on a hat for my 3-year-old granddaughter. The hat band was longer than needed so I overlapped the ends when sewing it on the hat. That way, as she grows I can change the band to a larger hat. This design makes me think of weddings. Imagine a summer wedding with bridesmaids and flower girls in straw hats with floral needlepoint hat bands!
The Hawaiian Shark Tooth tattoo custom needlepoint hat band went onto an adult straw western hat. The band was a little smaller than the large hat so I made an adjustable button closure with braided thread to match as shown in the detail below.
Wedding gift ideas are so hard to come up with, especially when a registry has already been bought out!
Well, even if the registry is still open, I’m sure that if the couple is Irish, then an Irish Wedding Needlepoint Pillow will be their favorite gift they receive.
The idea is pretty simple; make this design into a ring bearer pillow. Or stitch a full size needlepoint pillow for their home.
We’ll put their last name on top and below it features two Celtic knots and the Claddagh ring.

Irish Wedding Needlepoint Pillow
Sizes for this design depend on the use and mesh size, it ranges from 18 x 10.5 inches (for a full size pillow) to 10 x 5.6 inches (for a ring bearer).
