We’re back in the swing of things, and happy with how great the projects we made this week came out.
Not only us, but here are a few more testimonials we received last week.
“Thanks so much for your work on my needlepoint belt last fall! It’s fully stitched and finished and its recipient LOVES it! ” – Jessica 3-28-14
“The canvas came today and it looks amazing I cannot thank you enough for your help in perfecting the image. I will be sure to send you a picture when it is finished!” Elise 3-19-14
Anyway, onto the fun stuff, custom needlepoint belts! Our finishers are gifted, have a look at the belts we did. The second image shows off the other ends one of which has a statue of liberty design that I love! (you can see the New York apple on the first image, too)

And now onto needlepoint kits. Below are some of the wonderful projects we made this week that I can’t wait to see once they are finished!

Occasionally we get requests to make hand painted custom needlepoint canvases.
Normally we make stitch counted canvases that are printed, and for a number of reasons, think they are often better (see the image of this needlepointed photo done from a stitch counted canvas ) but, our painter just finished two projects this week, and they are wonderful!
One woman thought the Orangutan was gonna walk right off the canvas!

Sometimes we get requests for hand painted needlepoint canvases, and other times, we’re asked to design canvases that really need a painter’s skill set.
Being in the Denver area, we are fortunate to have a local canvas painter that loves to paint animals! This cat was done for a customer who does not have any single good photo. I spoke with the customer and mentioned that I know a painter who would love to work on this project and interpret all the photos into one design and they agreed.
And I’m glad they did! They are loving this custom needlepoint project!

Last week we designed and made a needlepoint kit for a stitcher who’s son recently purchased a new home.
The size she wanted to stitch was 23 inches by 13 inches. The tricky part was that she could not get the two doors of the house to show up in the same image. She emailed me 4 images, and I took two of the angles that I thought would work, and stitched them together.
It came out looking muddy due to the colors and lighting of the day, so after reviewing it with her, we decided I would “touch up” the canvas to make it easier to stitch. The touch up included removing the grill and trash cans, along with a lot more things she didn’t think were needed. We even added a new sky above the house. After sending her the touched up preview, she loved it! She received the canvas and was thrilled, which is always nice to hear 🙂
