About this Design

This needlepoint design is based on the mosaic "Sleeping Dog" from the House of Lucius Caecillius Iucundus, that Peggy our founder saw, while walking through ancient Rome and Pompeii. Dogs were popular as pets in ancient Pompeii, and this is a typical mosaic that would have been featured in a private home or public building of ancient Rome. Stitch this unique reinterpretation of history!
