Assembling the first cover was not so simple as it could have been. Voila! We came up with a simple to assemble design which used the magnets in the Nook box as closures.<\/p>\n<p>For this second <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barnesandnoble.com\/nook\/index.asp?r=1&amp;IF=N&amp;isIndexPage=1&amp;cm_mmc=Skimlinks-_-k186085-_-j12871747k186085-_-Primary\">Nook <\/a>cover, the <a title=\"needlepoint\" href=\"https:\/\/www.needlepaint.com\" target=\"_blank\">Needlepoint canvas<\/a> was 5-1\/2\u201d by 18\u201d designed by one of our partners and far more intricate than my previous. I had fun needlepointing this canvas as I could use lots of different stitches.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.needlepaint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/katsfinisheddesign.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-196 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.needlepaint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/katsfinisheddesign.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"429\" height=\"181\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.needlepaint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/katsfinisheddesign.jpg 448w, https:\/\/www.needlepaint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/katsfinisheddesign-300x127.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 429px) 100vw, 429px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong><em>Needlepaint Design<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">Once stitched and blocked, I cut the black cotton lining material to 6-1\/2\u201d by 20\u201d, which includes a \u00bd\u201d seam allowance on the sides and a 1\u201d allowance on the ends.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.needlepaint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/template.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-202\" title=\"Template\" src=\"https:\/\/www.needlepaint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/template.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"227\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.needlepaint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/template.jpg 691w, https:\/\/www.needlepaint.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/template-300x126.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong><em>Lining template<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">With right sides together, sew the lining and needlepoint canvas together along last row of thread. This should leave an approximate 1\u201d seam allowance on the lining. Trim canvas to \u00bd\u201d , turn, and fold along seam line. Fold canvas in half width-wise with wrong side showing. Sew side seams, trim to 1\/4&#8243;, and turn. Repeat for lining, but do not turn. Fold lining over 1&#8243; to the outside and place magnet or other closure option.
